How it works

How a SeenByAI AI Visibility Audit Works

How the audit actually works

No black box — here's exactly what we check and why it matters.

🕷️

1. AI crawler access

We check whether AI crawlers — GPTBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, ClaudeBot and others — can actually reach your content. Blocked or JavaScript-only content is invisible to most of them, regardless of how good the site looks to a human visitor.

🧩

2. Schema / structured data

We audit your JSON-LD markup — Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, Product and FAQ schema — the structured data that tells AI exactly who you are, where you are, and what you offer, rather than leaving it to guess from prose.

🪪

3. Entity verification

We check that your business is verifiably real and consistent — matching details on Companies House where applicable, your Google Business Profile, and major directories.

📌

4. NAP consistency

Your Name, Address and Phone number need to match, word for word, everywhere they appear online. Inconsistencies are one of the most common reasons AI won't confidently cite a business.

5. Real buyer questions

We test your business against the actual, non-branded questions your customers would ask — not just your company name — across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and record whether you're mentioned and how you're described.

📊

6. Competitor benchmark

We compare your AI visibility against real, relevant competitors — correctly scoped to your actual market and service area, not a generic national list.

Questions about the process

What do I need to provide?

Just your website URL and a little about your business. If you'd like your Google Business Profile or existing schema double-checked too, we'll ask for those separately — nothing else is required to get started.

How long until I see a change?

Once fixes are live we re-test using the same questions and tools as your original report, so you can see what's changed straight away. How quickly AI assistants themselves reflect that change varies, since they don't update in real time the way a search engine does.

Do you guarantee AI mentions?

No one can honestly guarantee that — AI models change constantly. What we guarantee is a clear, evidence-based picture of where you stand today and a specific, prioritised list of fixes that measurably improve your odds.

Can you implement the fixes for me?

Yes. Fix lists are written in plain English and schema/JSON-LD code is provided ready to paste in. If you'd rather we do it for you, ask about our website rebuild option.
